Poncho Farms Canned Balloon Dogs
Canned Balloon Dogs from Poncho Farms! Grade A Casual, Fine Latex Products.
Surprisingly important disclaimer: These cans do not actually contain balloon dogs. They are decorative. Most of them contain Creamed Corn, which was chosen for its pleasing slooshing sound when shaken. Actually canning balloon dogs was cost prohibitive the time of production.
Why Canned Balloon Dogs? Here are three reasons-
1. People who have seen photos of the packages I send out have been messaging me that they want a box from me. A lot of people have said they don’t even care what’s in the box, they’d even take an empty box. I’m not mailing out empty boxes, but one Canned Balloon Dog fits nicely in a small cubical box that’s just the right size to doodle on.
2. I’ve gotten messages from people who want something cool, but aren’t ready to drop a few hundred dollars on an original painting. The obvious answer was to have prints made, so I chose to make a series of labels for imaginary canned goods instead. Makes sense, if you don’t think about it.
3. C’mon! Canned Balloon Dogs! It’s just fun and zany. And fits on that little knickknack shelf in your office. Also makes a confusing gift for hard-to-shop-for friends and relatives. Co-workers too, I’d imagine. Maybe pick one up for your mail carrier or landscaper while your at it.
Comes in five varieties, each in a signed/numbered edition of 25.
Each flavor/color has different ingredients and nutritional information on the back, including some odd inside jokes and things that I don’t even remember (I think the number on the UPC code for Orange is the phone number for a balloon distributor in California, and I guess Gangnam Style is an artificial sweetener?)
